There was a fantastic day of tennis in Bowral recently.
The South East Regional Matchplay Series was held at the Loseby Park courts on Sunday, May 1 and it turned out to be a terrific tournament.
Not only was it a splendid autumn day, but 88 junior tennis players took part in the regional singles competition which saw some excellent tennis displayed by the youngsters.
Competitors came from a region that extended from Camden to Merimbula.
Co-organiser Susie Purvis said the tournament went really well and that positive feedback was received.
"People said it was very well run," Purvis said.
"All the players were well behaved and there wasn't any trouble on court.
"I think everyone was just happy to be back playing in tournaments."
The top seeds won every competition except for the 18 and under mixed round robin.
Tennis is popular in the Southern Highlands and the crew at the Bowral Tennis Club run group lessons which sees a lot of children take part.
