The South Coast-based rugby league season kicks off this weekend after wet weather washed out the originally planned Round 1 fixture against Southern Highlands Storm before Easter.
The change means that Robertson have the bye this weekend before their first scheduled fixture which will be against Sussex Inlet away on Saturday April 30.
The Spuddies were Regan Cup Premiers in 2020 and with the 2021 season cancelled in August due to the COVID-19 pandemic after playing just eight games, all players are extremely keen to return to the playing field.
Having retained the majority of last season's team, including coach Blake Meyer, the Spuddies have added some experience with bullocking front rower Dave Canterbury returning to the club.
Canterbury, who has spent the previous three seasons playing with Kiama, will be a welcome addition to a forward pack which lacked depth last year.
Another bonus is the signing of talented hooker/half Brad Meuleman. A former Moss Vale and Picton First Grade player, Brad will add some direction to the team and will certainly make his presence felt in this competition.
Returning after a hiatus in 2021 due to injury, Matt Hammond and Pat Pearse will give the backline some depth, while exciting youngsters Harrison Hill and Matt Lynch have also signed on to wear the Maroon and White this year.
Round five will see the first game at Robertson Showground, also against Sussex Inlet, on Saturday May 14, with kick off at 2pm.
The Spuddies would like to thank their sponsors ahead of the 2022 campaign.
