A major concert series will return to the Southern Highlands this Saturday after a decade's absence with chart-toppers Crowded House leading the charge.
Organisers of A Day on the Green said this Saturday's sold out event at Centennial Vineyards will be their biggest show in Bowral to date, with more than 10,000 music lovers expected, and it's thanks to some major upgrades.
Michael Newton, director of Roundhouse Entertainment, said the owners of the vineyard have built a new staging area for major events and spent a lot of time and money getting it right.
"It's now one of our best sites, it's just so gorgeous," Mr Newton said. "The old venue [to the right of the restaurant] was absolutely stunning but when it rained all that rain went into that ampitheatre from everywhere."
Mr Newton said they've had to cancel many shows at the venue in the past due to being "smashed" by weather while other shows had also been impacted, but he was excited for the new setup at the vineyard and clear skies forecast for the Easter long weekend.
"It just got too hard," he said. "But with this new venue ... it's very robust."
Mr Newton said the greatest part of his job was the actual concert days and being able to watch people have a great time.
"Standing in front of 10,000 people enjoying themselves and an artists that's really connecting to the audience and playing really well is just a good feeling."
