Six ladies played a round robin of five sets of six end singles playing each other with the top two ladies playing a full match in the final. After the first three matches, the individual scores ranged from 13 to 20 and were added to their final two matches.
At the end of the rounds, Laura Quintanilla had the highest score of 35 while Alice Moore and Margaret Dawkins tied for second on 27 so on a count back on ends won, Alice was set to play Laura in the final.
As the match got under way, Alice settled in quickly and held a slight lead in the first half before Laura drew even on the 18th end at 13/13.
Alice seemed to get stuck on the dreaded 13 as Laura found her form and slowly pulled away, winning the match 25/17. There were all the highs and lows of a good bowls match and both ladies deserved their place in the final.
Former Ladies President, Nancy Pope was on hand to present the Trophy for Jan Hendrie.
