General Manager Lisa Miscamble said it was important the Executive team understand the opportunities and challenges facing residents.
"We have a new executive team at the council with a commitment to delivering improved services to the residents of the Southern Highlands," she said.
"To do this we have to scratch beneath the rumours and headlines and discover what really matters to our citizens."
"And what better way to do that than meet face-to-face in the towns and villages where they live."
Ms Miscamble said the new executive team wanted to know what residents like about where they live, what opportunities they see and the challenges they face.
"Our aim as the new executive team of the council is to make the Southern Highlands a great place to live, work and visit for everyone," she said.
"To do that, we have to first listen and then work closely with our community."
The Listening Tour will take place between March 8 and May 17, 2022.
The general manager said there was a real sense of excitement on behalf of the executive team to get out of the Civic Centre.
"Getting out on the road and visiting 18 locations will require a big commitment from the new executive team," she said.
"However, we think it's important to hear first-hand what our residents have to say.
"What better way to learn more about our region and its people than getting together over a cup of tea, saying hello and having a chat."
Ms Miscamble said the Listening Tour was a further step towards re-establishing openness and transparency and restoring community trust in the council's decision-making processes.
The new executive team comprises of the General Manager, Director Corporate Strategy and Resourcing Carmel Foster, Director Communities and Place Geoff King and Director Service and Project Delivery Karin Targa.
