EVA will own and oversee the market, however the day-to-day business and management of the event itself will be run by Moss Vale resident and former Railway Street Farmers' Market Manager, Kate Cretney.
EVA Chair, Jonathan Baxter, said of the acquisition was a "perfect" fit for EVA.
"The markets are a true community event and the EVA Committee will work with Wingecarribee Shire Council to ensure the market continues well into the future for the benefit of local residents, businesses and the very talented stallholders who produce and sell their goods," he said.
"We are delighted to have Kate's passion and management skills to maintain the high quality of organisation and visitor experience patrons have come to expect."
Now in its 10th year, under the prior ownership and management of Exeter resident Jill Keyte, the market has grown to become a must go to Southern Highlands experience.
Originally held in the historic Exeter Village Hall with some outdoor stalls, the advent of COVID-19 in 2020 saw the event move fully outdoors into the grounds of picturesque Exeter Park with its backdrop of mature elm and cypress trees and quintessential rural playing field.
The market, runs on the first Saturday of the month and hosts up to 65 stalls which proudly offers a wide range of locally produced food, clothing, homewares and artisan goods.
Gardening enthusiasts are well catered for with plants, garden equipment and unique decorative items. For food lovers, specialty bread, cakes, confectionery, fruit and veg, specialty smallgoods, teas, preserves and condiments are complimented by a choice of international cuisine.
The market draws a regular and bustling crowd being popular with Southern Highland locals and people from further afield, including visitors from Sydney.
Former owner Jill Keyte said she enjoyed running the market and working with extraordinarily committed group of stallholders and customers.
"It is time for me to retire and become a customer myself. Kate has been my very able assistant and will do a great job managing the market and maintaining a legacy," she said.
The next Exeter Village Market is on Saturday March 5, 2022.
