The Magic beat the previously unbeaten Port Macquarie Dolphins 68-53 in the grand final to cap a successful first outing of the 2022 season.
Moss Vale travelled to Sydney to face off against the Dolphins, Lismore Storm, Springwood Scorchers and Sutherland Sharks.
They almost didn't enter a team with support from Highlands businesses SF Drafting and The Briars crucial to getting the side up and running.
After going down to Port Macquarie by five points in their opening fixture, the girls bounced back to record three straight wins over Springwood, Lismore and Sutherland to secure a rematch in the final.
Having had one player withdraw because of COVID as well as a number of injuries over the tournament, the side saved their best showing for last and comfortably beat the Dolphins.
Coach David Watts said the entire side played to their potential in the final.
"Georgie Mitchell was on fire beyond the arc hitting five three pointers and sharing the top scorers list with captain Zoe Roulston on 21," he said.
"Charlee Lester was a rebounding machine at both ends of the floor and added 10 points, while the Bull twins added a further 14 points for the team.
"Miranda Feely was a defensive juggernaut throughout all games, showing that teams require effort on both ends of the floor to win a championship."
Watts will be hoping it's a sign of things to come for the Magic as they prepare to hold trials for their first ever senior women's side to compete in the Spalding NSW Waratah League competition.
Trials will be held at Moss Vale Basketball Stadium on February 6, 13 and 20 from 5-7pm.
