Twelve of Yerrinbool's cutest cats and dogs entered in the local pet competition, but only three could be crowned as winners.

Residents in the northern village gathered at the Yerrinbool Hall on December 5 for a sausage sizzle, and Christmas card-making with an Australian theme.
The winners announced were Sarge the Great Dane with first place, Mia the cat as second and Reuben was third.
Local and active member of the community Maryann Anderson with other residents received council funding for a community project.

"We were trying to think of a way to involve animals, almost everyone has a pet," she said.
Despite the fact that only three animals won, all twelve entrants were featured in a local calendar, and had their own designated months to shine.
"The ones that won had a good day," Mrs Anderson said.
Parts of the funding were used to create the calendar and hold the barbecue.
A competition is also underway to find the best lit houses in Yerrinbool as part of this year's Festival of Lights, where the winners will be awarded vouchers.
