The Wollondilly group encompasses 16 CWA branches from The Oaks all the way to Milton.
The aim of the award is to encourage branch publicity officers to engage in a range of publicity opportunities for CWA, and to encourage them to gain confidence in experience of various activities for the media.
"In order to enter I had to present my publicity folder, which I have divided into months, with every piece of publicity for that month included - this could relate to our monthly meetings, our fund raising activities and our social media promotion," said Jill.
"It actually took me five days to put it together to my satisfaction, but it paid off!"
She said she was surprised, given the effects of COVID, that there was enough activity to publicise.
"When it was first suggested that I enter I thought there would not be enough information because COVID put a stop to our face to face activities and our fundraising activities were pretty much halted," Jill said.
"Keeping our members engaged and connected became a focus during lockdown and we started some social cohesion activities such as Zoom drinks weekly for members.
"When we could we had a walking group, a WhatsApp group and a weekly coffee group; and we rang around those who members we had not seen for a while to make sure they were okay.
"We also have a closed Facebook page that members are encouraged to "chat" on."
She said the large campaign she focussed on was CWA Awareness Week in September this year.
"I set up interviews with our president and forwarded information from our head office to all the media," she said.
"I did the same when we partnered with the ACCC with Scams Awareness Week recently."
Now that Jill has won this round she has been encouraged to enter the next level of the competition in March next year.
