A book about the fun two siblings would get up, a book about the adventures they would have growing up, a book about the unique bond siblings have.
"I wanted a particular book about the fun, craziness and a positive message," she said.
However all she could find at the time were instructional books on two siblings written for a parent's perspective.
"Rather than something instructive, it's about the fun and adventures and the bond siblings can share," she said.
It was when Brooke, a Southern Highlands resident, was feeding her newborn at 3 am two years ago that inspiration hit and 'You Two, You Two' was born.
The book was two years in the making, with the COVID-19 lockdown allowing Brooke to finish and self publish her first children's picture book.
Illustrated by Elin Matilda, 'You Two, You Two' is a sweet celebration of little people growing up together, filled with colourful, imagantive and modern interpretations of Australian animals.
The book is a timeless treasure about friendship and adventures shared.
"There are few relationships as important as those of siblings," Brooke explains.
"It's the perfect gift for big siblings, or new parents of two."
Told through the eyes of a parent, the story has been intentionally crafted to appeal to parents and children alike. With a gentle rhyme, delightfully short and a simple message of love and fun, it's a bedtime story that will be enjoyed time and time again.
Brooke will be at the Robertson Book Fair on Sunday October 24 with copies of her book.
The book is available at Book Nook, Robertson and will soon be available at Masuki Store, Big Little Ones and Made by Others.
You can also purchase the book online at www.brookehill.me/shop as well as Amazon, Booktopia and The Book Depository.
