One new COVID-19 case recorded on Thursday as regional restrictions continue
The Southern Highlands recorded one new COVID-19 case overnight on Thursday and none today, according to the NSW Health Website. There are currently 13 active cases of COVID-19 in the Highlands as of August 28, 2021, one case in the 2579 postcode, three cases in the 2576 postcode and nine cases in the 2575 postcode.
Doctor, nurse at Regal Medical Centre in Mittagong test positive for COVID
Earlier in the week, hundreds of patients at Regal Medical Centre were asked to get tested immediately, after a doctor and nurse from the centre tested positive for COVID-19. The call for testing covers about 200 patients who were at the centre last week between Monday, August 30 and Friday, September 3, and who are considered close contacts.
