The Drawing Room Rocks walking track, north of Berry is getting a $150,000 upgrade, with tracks being repaired and upgraded, steps and safety barriers installed.
National Parks and Wildlife Service is overseeing the work on the track that has been heavily eroded in the Barren Grounds Nature Reserve.
Part of the project involves heli-lifting sandstone and wooden steps to sites along the track, to be installed by park staff to re-direct water off the steep sections of the track to stop erosion.
The work has seen a number of loads of sandstone rocks lifted into the area, remarkably with hardly any damage to the surrounding bushland.

The track takes walkers to one of the most spectacular lookouts in the region with stunning views, even on dull, overcast days, north to Gerringong and over Seven Mile Beach, back over the Shoalhaven right out over Berry to Jervis Bay and beyond.
"These works are expected to be complete by this time next year," a NPWS spokesperson said.
Sandstone rocks have been placed into a number of eroded areas on the track, while also included in the work is steel safety railing along some of the steep cliff drop off areas.
"NPWS is also looking into improving safety signage along the track," the spokesperson said.
The upgrade of the walking track is just one project being rolled out as part of the biggest infrastructure investment in the history of NSW national parks, with the NSW Government investing $257 million to roll out 170 visitor infrastructure projects across the national parks estate, including more than 750km of new and upgraded walking tracks.
