Seven Rural Fire Service and three Fire and Rescue NSW crews were called to the blaze in the building on the Old Princes Highway, along with NSW Police and NSW Ambulance, just before 7pm.
Rural Fire Service crews from Basin View, Falls Creek, Huskisson, St Georges Basin, Tomerong, West Nowra and the Shoalhaven Deputy Group attended the scene, along with Fire and Rescue NSW Shoalhaven 440 and Nowra 405 and the Hazmat Unit from Shellharbour.
RFS crews battled to extinguish the structure, with Fire and Rescue NSW crews donning breathing apparatus and entered the building, using hose lines to fight the fire from inside the building, which contained various stock feeds.
The blaze was reported to be extinguished at 9.45pm but not before the building was destroyed.
Fire crews remained on the scene conducting final clean ups before the location was handed over to NSW police who remained on scene overnight.
The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined with NSW Police and NSW RFS fire investigators working together to piece together the cause of the blaze.
On a heartfelt Facebook post owner Kim Treyvaud of Jervis Bay Stock Feeds thanked everyone for their support.
To all our supportive JB customers and community,
Nothing could have prepared us for the events that occurred this evening.
Unfortunately we lost our shop due to a structural fire.
As this is a family business - our livelihoods, this has torn our hearts in two, and can imagine this extends to the community whom rely on us.
Thank you to all the supportive messages we have received already.
Thank you for all the support over the years and we hope we can regain our feet soon to keep serving our loyal and valuable customers.
Darren, Kim, Ryley, Sarah, Jake and the JB fam.
