The sewage treatment surveillance program detected the virus on August 5.
However, there have been zero new cases of Covid-19 or exposure sites reported in the Southern Highlands.
A Covid-19 positive case in the Alymerton, Alpine, Balaclava postcode was reported on August 6. No other information has been made available.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant and get tested at the onset of even the slightest symptoms.
SWSLHD which covers Bowral and District Hospital recorded a total of 681 Covid-19 tests between July 30 and August 5, with Sunday August 1 recording only 65 tests and Thursday August 4 recording more than 140 tests.
A slight decrease from last week's total of 770 tests.
Residents are urged to come forward and get tested at the onset of even the slightest symptoms.
Across NSW, 356 people tested positive to Covid-19 and more than 95,000 people were tested as of August 9, 8 pm.
To help stop the spread of COVID-19:
- If you are unwell, get tested and isolate right away - don't delay.
- Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out.
- Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others.
- Wear a mask at indoor venues, especially if you can't physically distance
NSW Health continues to urge everyone throughout NSW, to get tested immediately if they have even the mildest of symptoms. High rates of testing are critical to detecting transmission and prevent the further spread of COVID-19 in the community.
There are two Covid-19 testing locations in the Southern Highlands.
- Bowral and District Hospital. Open 8:30 am to 5 pm, seven days a week. Appointments are not required. Entry is from Ascot Road.
- Mittagong Respiratory Clinic. Open 8 am to 5 pm, seven days a week. Appointments required, call 4800 9032. The clinic is located in the lower level of Mittagong Health Care Centre.
