"It is not our place to make these decisions we will be guided by the latest advice by NSW Health and other authorities closer to race day," he said.
However assurances were given that the Bong Bong Picnic Race Club board would be following NSW Health, NSW Police and Racing NSW guidelines to ensure that the well loved historic community event is COVID safe.
While tickets will not go on sale until restrictions are lifted volunteers have continued to maintain grounds and work hard on preparations for race day.
"Last year's race day was cancelled due to COVID and we hope this year we can find a way to come together as we have done in the great tradition of Picnic Racing."
