But the membership fee also covers something else - an annual donation to charity.
This year, Can Assist Southern Highlands were the chosen recipients of $1000, and today representatives from each group gathered at Schmokin Cafe at Berrima for the cheque handover.
"We thank the HCEMC for their very generous donations," said Can Assist Southern Highlands president Jenny Harper.
"It will go to covering costs for patients receiving treatment for their cancer, or who require palliative or end of life care."
HCEMC president Colin Sims said that the decision to help Can Assist was a popular one.
"When we put it to the group, it was unanimous," Mr Sims said.
"It's good to keep it local and see it benefit the region."
