Last Wednesday was no different with just one shot deciding the match of the day.
Julie Hayden and Mike Holmwood def. Eric Willacy and Robin Staples 23-22
After a very tight first half Hayden and Holmwood held a very slender lead, 12-9.
They then scored seven shots on the 14th end to lead 19-12 and when they stretched this to 22-13 with four ends to play, it appeared that Hayden and Holmwood were about to romp home with it.
That wouldn't be the case however as Willacy and Staples then won three ends in a row, scoring three shots on each end to have the scores tied 22-all.
With one to play the last end was open to both sides but it was Hayden and Holmwood who took out the match by one shot.
From what looked to be a comfortable win, they were stretched to the limit to just hold on in an entertaining match.
