After COVID-19 forced the cancellation of last year's event, this will be the first winter seminar in three years, and will be held at the Mittagong RSL on Sunday, June 27.
ABC Gardening Australia's Jane Edmanson OAM will head the line-up of speakers, addressing sustainable gardening in a talk called 'All things down to earth'.
Other speakers will show you how to attract a wider variety of birds to your garden, and arrange it to be extra productive and bee friendly.
You'll also see the results of almost the only Australian Rose Show of 2020 in which every exhibitor's roses were photographed professionally in a COVID-safe process, producing amazing roses in a remarkable virtual show.
"Three years ago, the Society had a packed audience lapping up great gardening ideas from Gardening Australia's host, Costa Georgiadis," said Jane Stockel, president of the Highlands Garden Society Bowral.
"With last year's unavoidable cancellation, we wanted to bring another of the wonderful Gardening Australia team back to the Highlands. So, this year it's the much-loved Jane Edmanson - for more than 30 years the Victorian presenter on the program."
Jane Edmanson will focus on soils, composting, propagation and creation of worm farms in All Things Down To Earth.
Eric Ayre, secretary of the Southern Highlands Apiarists' Association, will show what's involved in bee keeping and give guidance on plants that attract different pollenating and honeybees.
Erna Llenore's talk will highlight the individual steps gardeners can take to encourage bird habitat and diversity.
Finally, professional photographer John Swainston will present the stunning entries in the Society's recent Virtual Rose Show - bringing warming summer roses and floral art to the winter audience.
The Society, founded in 1976, has invited all other garden clubs in the Highlands to join together to celebrate the joy of gardens and gardening, to share ideas.
The entry fees ($49.90 for members, $57.00 for guests) cover morning tea, lunch, the four speakers and exclusive access to four garden-related retail stalls. NSW COVID-safe registration will be required on arrival.
