Oxley College will hold their first gala day tomorrow to raise funds for the Dance for Sick Kids initiative, at the Bowral Blacks stomping ground Eridge Park.
The national initiative is close to the hearts of Oxley staff and students, who have been raising funds in honour of fellow student Emily Hunt, who was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer in 2019.
Gala Day organiser, and head of sport and PDHPE at Oxley, Tom Kildred hopes the event unites the community for a great cause.
"I think if sport can contribute to that wider social connection through charity, that's a really nice thing," he said.
"The concept is bringing the school and the community together."
