Last AGM for hospital Auxiliary
The Moss Vale Hospital Auxiliary will hold its final AGM on June 10. The group is folding after more than 90 years of service. The final meeting will be held at the Seniors Centre in Queen Street, Moss Vale, from 1.30pm. Further inquiries can be made by calling Penny Barcicki on 4868 2213.

Serendipity Choir
Serendipity: the choir is thrilled to announce its first post-COVID concerts. The worst thing that can happen to a choir is not being able to sing, and COVID regulations dictated that very situation for well over a year.
But now, on June 19 and 20, Highlanders can hear the choir again, and the concerts are free! As the members have been back together for a short time both concerts are planned to be about one hour in length, with no interval or refreshments - again, a COVID requirement.
"We Rise Again" is the theme, and pieces to be presented include spirituals, rock, modern, sacred, folk - something for everyone. It is recommended that tickets be booked through TryBooking, online via serendipitythechoir.com. By booking this way you are guaranteed a seat, and the organisers know how many seats are available at the door. There is no charge for booking.
Concert dates and venues are:
- June 19, Bundanoon Public School Hall at 3.00pm
- June 20, Bowral Uniting Church, at 3.00pm
Both venues have excellent heating.
JP desks
The NSW Southern Highlands Justices Association has received many requests for JP services since closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The following locations will recommence as detailed:
- Bowral, Springett's Arcade, June 9, 10.00am - 1.00pm
- Moss Vale, IGA Centre, June 10, 10.00am - 1.00pm
- Mittagong, Market Town Centre, June 11 and 12, 10.00am-1.00pm
Two JP's will be on service for all JP requirements.
Parkinson's Support
The next meeting for the Southern Highlands Parkinson's Support Group will be on June 15 at 10.00am in the Springs Room at the Mittagong RSL. The guest speaker will be Matthew Ott, Physiotherapist. Probus looks at real estate
One Agency principal Kate Maday will give an overview of property prices in the Southern Highlands when she speaks at the meeting of the Combined Bowral Probus Club on June 11 at the Mittagong RSL Club. "What to buy, what to sell, when to buy, when to sell..." - Kate will speak on a variety of real estate matters. She will be accompanied by One Agency auctioneer Henry Capel who will invite members and guests to participate in a mock auction and a chance to win a lunch or dinner courtesy of Mittagong RSL. The meeting starts at 10am and concludes at midday. Guests are welcome. Morning tea is served at 10.30am at a cost of $5.

Get crafty
The Mittagong Seniors group is encouraging people to get crafty for the Big Craft Day on July 27. Entries for needlework of all kinds will be welcome in categories including soft toys, childrens' wear, adult wear, accessories, charity work... whatever you decide. For each item entered you will receive one raffle ticket and be in the draw for the chance to win one of five $40 Spotlight gift cards. Any man or woman over the age 55 may enter so tell your friends and neighbours to start crafting. VIEW club meeting
The next meeting of the Southern Highlands Evening VIEW Club will be held on June 7 from 6.30pm for a 7.00pm start at the Mittagong RSL. Members are asked to bring an interesting photo and give a short talk about the photo. Visitors, new members and any enquiries about club activities are welcome. Other social events coming up are on June 16 in the form of an afternoon tea at Kookarbar Cafe, and a lunch on July 21 at Bowral Golf Club.

VIEW members support the education of disadvantaged Australian children by raising much needed funds for The Smith Family. Through fundraising activities and social events in local communities, members raise money that goes directly to The Smith Family's learning and mentoring programs for disadvantaged students.
Weekend stalls
CWA Bowral branch will hold winter stalls at the Bowral rooms over the long weekend in June from June 12-14. The stalls will be open from 9.30am to 3pm each day at the rooms at 40 Wingecarribee Street (adjacent to Corbett Gardens). Items for sale will include takeaway Devonshire teas, jams, pickles, craft (including knitwear) and plants.
Bowral CWA
The next meeting of the CWA Bowral branch will be held on June 8 starting 1.30pm. New members and guests are welcome to join the group in a congenial atmosphere. Following the meeting, afternoon tea will be served. The CWA rooms are located at 40 Wingecarribee Street (adjacent to Corbett Gardens). Enquiries: the secretary on 4861 5425.
SHE CWA meeting
The next meeting of the Southern Highlands Evening Branch of CWA NSW will be held at the CWA rooms in Winifred West Park, Mittagong on June 3. Everyone is welcome, young and old. We have a trading table as a fund raiser called "Bring and Buy". How it works is you bring something along to donate and you buy something that someone else has brought. This month we will hear from Vicki Kelley, chair of "Pop In" the new drop in centre for women that has opened in the Southern Highlands. Come and join us, we would love to have you along. Scottish Dance
Southern Highlands Scottish Country Dancing meets every Wednesday night. Organisers assure that a COVID-19 Safety Plan has been approved and accepted by Moss Vale Uniting Church with dance fun to return to the venue from 7.30pm to 9.30 pm.
At present classes are limited to 21 people, however, if you are keen to join the group please email jrdyson2@bigpond.com or call 4871 1369. Membership is $10 and there is a weekly fee of $6. The teacher is Helen Wales who is assisted by Sue Laird.
Line dancing fun
Line dancing is held at the Mittagong Seniors' Centre in Queen Street each Tuesday from 11.15am and is run by Janice for one hour. Other activities at the centre include ukulele classes where participants can enjoy a ukelele singalong each Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 11.30 and a beginner's course at 11.30am on Thursdays for one hour.
A guitar singalong is held from 1pm on Thursdays called "Learning Guitar Through Chords and Songs". The table game Rummikub is run on both Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am and usually runs until 12.30pm. The cost to join the seniors' club is $10 a year and daily fee is $3 which goes towards insurance and hall hire.

Folk dance
Do you love world music? Now is your chance to learn about different cultures, their dance and costume traditions through folk dance classes. These classes are led by an accredited Folk Dance Australia teacher.
They offer gentle exercise in a group environment and are suitable for beginners and seniors. The classes are held at the Bowral Presbyterian Church hall in Bendooley Street, Bowral, on Thursdays from 11.30am to 12.30pm. Newcomers are welcome and no partners are needed.
