There is also a camera crew filming every stage of development, as two of Australia's passions - real estate and reality television - meet at Mittagong.
The project is a $65 million development of 24 luxury, architecturally designed homes on acreage flanking the slopes of Mt Gibraltar in Mittagong.
The television show is Channel Nine's My Aussie Build, which has started filming on the site for a nationally broadcast story scheduled for 2022.
The 11.2-hectare (27.6 acre) development on Nero Street, which forms part of Mt Gibraltar's dress circle, is yet to be named, but the building has started on the first home which will be called Poppaea.
Poppaea was the beautiful second wife of Roman Emperor Nero, who was famous for his lavish lifestyle.
Two more luxury homes are already being designed for the blue ribbon site which hugs the sunlit northern slopes of iconic Mt Gibraltar above the charming, historic town of Mittagong.
To be completed by December and using local designers, builders, landscapers and engineers, Poppaea will be unveiled as a contemporary, luxe, pavilion-style adaption of a 21st-century farmhouse.
Sprawling over 520sqm on a lush 4000 sqm (1 acre) elevated meadow of prime real estate, the striking, the spectacularly proportioned residence will flaunt custom-made, master-built elements and sharp, modern, next-level design features and aesthetics never before seen in the Southern Highlands.
The eco-friendly home will feature panoramic, double glazed picture-fame windows, switchable from frosted to clear to provide views or privacy as desired.
Several highly talented and skilled Highlands businesses are bringing the remarkable property to life including architect Kathy Barnsley Architecture, builder Palm Built Homes, landscape designer Tempest Landscapes and Design and structural engineer D and Consulting - together with Sydney interior designer de Saxe Design.
Poppaea will be launched for sale in January 2022 with an estimated price point of more than $4.5 million.
Carlton Real Estate Development director, Simon Pikkat, said over time, 23 more homes in the high-end style mode of Poppaea would complete his company's vision for the project.
"We are on a purposeful mission to create the most luxurious and aesthetically beautiful real estate development the Southern Highlands has ever seen," he said.
"We are on track to deliver this exciting project, with our first home, Poppaea to be completed and sold by Christmas and 23 more distinctive, master-crafted homes to follow.
"The Southern Highlands real estate market is robust, fuelled by record-low interest rates and homebound buyers saving more disposable income.
"There are several multi-million residential projects like ours underway to meet the voracious demand from Sydney buyers for high-end properties in the Highlands."
