Wombats and Wildlife Magnetism
- Saturday May 1, Mittagong RSL, 9:30 am - 4 pm
They're cute and adorable, and now a free seminar will be held to learn more about wombats.
There is no cost to attend the seminar and the lineup of speakers includes hands-on-experts on wombats, rescuing them after accidents and returning them to the wild and everything else you might want to know about adorable wombats.
A number of topics will be discussed at the seminar such as:
- Farmer's view of wombat management
- Dispersing myths about wombats
- Connectivity and wildlife corridors
- Protecting our platypus
- Challenges facing our Australian animals
- Actions to make a positive difference
Quest for Life Self-Care workshop
- Thursday April 29, Moss Vale Services Club, 9:30 am - 12:20 pm
Quest for Life will host a workshop for the Southern Highlands community to help residents deal with change and stress. Quest's programs teach people that they need to feel peace. Thanks to a generous ClubsGrant from Mittagong RSL and Moss Vale Services Club, they're offering a series of workshops at no charge. Margie Braunstein will facilitate Self-Care at the Moss Vale Services Club.

'Weather Studies' art exhibition
- Saturday May 1, The Shac, Robertson, 10 am - 4 pm
Paintings that "capture the many moods" of Kangaroo Valley will be on exhibition over the next month.
Artist A-F Fulgence explores the rejuvenation of Kangaroo Valley, and her re-connection with the landscape after the devastating bushfires in the upcoming exhibition. The French artist said she is still recovering from the trauma of the Currowan fire that forced her to flee her home.
The free event requires attendees to book a ticket.
Artist Talk at Whitewall Art Projects
- Thursday April 29, 10 Jellore Street Berrima, 5:15 pm - 6:30 pm
Join us this artists Clayton John and Rae (Rachael) Freeman on Thursday evening for a drink and a chat. This insightful conversation will see both artists explore their unique physical processes through to the personal intuition that guides them to create. This artist talk is a free event and will take place at Whitewall Art Projects. Please arrive at 5:15pm for a prompt 5:30pm start.

Can Assist Open Garden Weekend
- May 1 - 2, 68 Clearys Lane, Wildes Meadow, 10 am - 4 pm
Can Assist Southern Highlands in conjunction with Les and Elaine Musgrave, owners of 'The Kaye' gardens in Wildes Meadow in the Southern Highlands are delighted to invite you to visit the gardens on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 May 2021 between 10am and 4pm.
Entry fees will go to Can Assist Southern Highlands - Cancer Assistance Network. Can Assist Southern Highlands Branch, founded in 1960 is purely voluntary, is not for profit and offers direct and timely financial assistance to patients who are residents of the Wingecarribee Shire who are living with cancer.Can Assist Southern Highlands is the Tulip Time Charity Partner 2021.
Entry fee donation to Can Assist is $10.00 per adult with children under 16 years admitted free.
Elaine Musgrave is one of Australia's leading botanical artists and a visit to Elaine's studio is a must on this visit. A percentage of sales of Elaine's work will be donated to Can Assist. Original works, prints and greeting cards will be for sale.
Volunteers will be running a sausage sizzle and offering delicious biscuits and sweets for sale in conjunction with a coffee cart on site for the weekend. Visitors are welcome to picnic on the lawns after inspecting the 5 acres of 'The Kaya'.
All welcome to help with fundraising for this much admired and valued resource in the Southern Highlands.
Colo Vale Monthly Market
- Saturday May 1, Community Hall, 28 Railway Avenue, 8:30 am - 1:30 pm
The Colo Vale market is back this weekend. Pick up some delicious home cooked food, Devonshire tea and check out the barbecue menu. There will be plenty of stalls, with fresh produce, home crafts and so much more on offer. While there check out the historic Railway Station which is opposite the Community Hall.
Exeter Markets
- Saturday May 1, 10 Exeter Road, Exeter 9 am - 1:30 pm
A country market with a vibrant community of makers, producers and sellers in one of the most beautiful settings in the NSW Southern Highlands. This outdoor market, held in Exeter Park, has something for everyone from plants, pates, preserves and pastries to handcrafted homewares, fashion, jewellery and pre-loved wares. There is ample parking, plus a children's playground for young ones to get active.
Bundanoon Makers Market
- Sunday May 2, Bundanoon Public School, 8:30 am - 2 pm
A market for the Craftsmith. Sewers, knitters, woodworkers, photographers , leatherwork and silver jewellery plus all you need for meals during the week . Fresh fruit and vegetables, freshly baked bread, Lebanese take home meals, hot Indian dishes, Japanese pancakes, honey and eggs plus a delicious assortment of cakes, pies and beautiful melting moments. Well worth the scenic drive - You will always find something new.
