The Cauliflower Club XV (CCXV) will take on the Wilted Tulips Bowral Blacks Rugby XV this Saturday March 27 in Bowral.
The CCXV is an eclectic selection of former rugby players backed up by a few half-handy former Wallabies and provincial greats including Peter Fitzsimons, Dean Mumm, Geoff "The Duke" Didier, Pat McCutcheon, Beau Robinson and Tatafu Polota-Nau.
World Cup-winning Wallabies coach, Bob Dwyer, will attempt to mould the CCXV's raw and unbridled talent, with sideline supervision from former Wallabies Greats such as Al Baxter and Sterling Mortlock.
The former Wallabies will conduct a rugby skills and drills session on Friday March 26 from 4:30 pm Eridge Park. The session is free for existing and aspiring junior rugby players, but bookings are essential: www.trybooking.com.au/BPEVI
Joining the former Wallabies is a motley collection of paddock warriors and broken-down rugby heroes with made up of former country rugby legends.
The Cauliflower Club was established in 2012 by former Wallaby greats, Peter FitzSimons and Nick Farr-Jones to raise funds to provide sporting and recreational equipment to enhance the lives of those with a disability, with a bias towards sporting-related injuries.
For those less familiar with the great game of rugby, the charity is so named for its sincere adoration for the unsung heroes of the forward pack with their mangled cauliflower-resembling ears on the frontline of the rugby battlefield.
The Cauliflower Club will take on the Wilted Tulips Bowral Blacks on Saturday March 27 at 2:30 pm at the Bowral Blacks home ground.
