Wingecarribee Shire Council is seeking feedback from the community after councillors unanimously endorsed the public exhibition of the Draft Revised Communications Strategy.
The draft document is a review of council's existing communications strategy originally adopted in 2014 and examines how council manages its numerous communications channels.
Council's deputy general manager corporate strategy and development services Mark Pepping said the revised strategy is designed to continue to provide council and the community with directives on future communications goals.
"Like many local government authorities around Australia, rapidly evolving technology is transforming the way in which Council communicates with our community," he said.
"These changes bring both opportunities and risks.
"This revised draft strategy is intended to provide a framework for greater and more effective communication and demonstrate how our numerous forms of communication link together to achieve specific objectives."
The draft revised communications strategy identifies actions to improve message consistency and ensure that council is engaging in proactive, deliberate and sustained communications.
"It's important that we continue to share information that's consistent, accurate and relevant across our shire's diverse audience groups."
The Draft Revised Communications Strategy can be viewed online at www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au/communication-strategy-2021.
Feedback can be made online or in writing addressed to Wingecarribee Shire Council, PO Box 141 Moss Vale 2577 or alternatively by email at email@example.com.
The draft revised strategy will be on exhibition until Wednesday 31 March 2021.
All submissions and feedback should be received by the close of the exhibition period, at which time a final report considering feedback will be presented to council.
