Wander the Wingecarribee will allow guests to immerse themselves in the history of the Georgian village. Combining regional producers, chefs and retailers, visitors will embark on an expedition into the people and food that shaped this beautiful village.
Highland Valley Forage founder Amanda Fry said she was excited to tap into the historical elements of the Southern Highlands and find new ways to share the cultural roots of the region.
"Exploring the village by foot allows guests to see things they might not usually spot, hear the stories that shaped Berrima and do this while sampling delicious food and sipping on local wines," she said.
Small groups will be led on an immersive foodie trail through the village with a host. There will be multiple departures throughout the day in groups of 15-20 people.
Destination Southern Highlands group manager Steve Rosa said the new and exciting cultural and heritage event for the Southern Highlands would act as a flagship visitor experience.
"The event will herald the regions' picturesque autumn season of events and will assist in showcasing the treasures of historic Berrima's colourful history, its culinary delights, major attractions and its vibrant people."
Experience Nature would also like to recognise the Australian Government, who has provided funds to support this event through their Bushfire Recovery initiative.
Wander the Wingecarribee will be held on April 10.
Guests will be picked up from either Mittagong, Moss Vale or Bowral and transported by bus to the event.
The 10 course degustation costs $195 per person. This includes parking, bus each way, all food, wine and entertainment for the day.
