One of NSW's fastest-growing private broodmare facilities, Silverdale Farm in the Southern Highlands, has its eyes set on helping guide the next generation of 'equine experts'.
Fresh from debut at this year's Gold Coast Magic Millions, where ranked second on leading vendor on average price (of 72), with individual yearlings selling up to $750,000 at the marquee event, Silverdale Farm has put its hand up to become a host farm as part of the 'Agribusiness and Equine Industry Development' project with TAFENSW Moss Vale.

Silverdale has also become a sponsor of Thoroughbred Industry Careers (TIC), a not-for-profit organisation which aims to raise the curtain on all of the career opportunities in the thoroughbred breeding and racing industry and help secure a talented future workforce.
TIC CEO Lindy Maurice has gathered support from industry luminaries to create a platform to help educate young people about the extraordinary variety of career options available to them.
"We're thrilled to have Steve Grant and Silverdale Farm's support," Ms Maurice said.
"They exemplify the kind of professionalism we want to expose more young people to as they learn more about the army of roles they could pursue within the industry."
Silverdale is also on the hunt for talent to fill three key positions at the stunning 230-acre property, including stable hand, gardener and administration and media officer.
Owner of Silverdale Farm, Steve Grant said "We're excited about our plans for growth and this is a great time to come on board into these busy but critical roles."
Mr Grant has always been a passionate believer in the transformative power of education, and is delighted to throw his support behind the TIC initiative, and a partnership with TAFENSW Moss Vale.
"Education is paramount if we are going to support a strong future industry," Mr Grant said.
"We're thrilled to be able to participate in these terrific initiatives that give young people a chance at having amazing careers and possibly ones they might not have ever contemplated before.
"We're thrilled to have the chance to work with TAFENSW Moss Vale to provide students with access to learning and work experience."
TAFENSW Moss Vale campus Services Co-Ordinator, Michelle Pontello said the practical partnership with local operators like Silverdale Farm responded to a gap in training identified through discussion and collaboration with the local equine industry.
"The development of tailored short courses like Foaling Down Mares and Yearling Prep will assist in developing a local workforce that is equipped with job ready skills," Ms Pontello said.
"It is critical to understand that Industry needs to be able to provide the appropriate training for local business to thrive."
Certificate III in Performance Horse and Certificate III in Agriculture (Horse focus) can both be studied locally at the Moss Vale campus and will provide local students the opportunity to remain in the area for both work and study commitments.
Both courses are eligible under the current NSW Government Job Trainer scheme and available for Traineeships.
