In January 2020, an investigation commenced after a complaint was received about an alleged assault involving an on-duty sergeant during an arrest in 2017.
On Thursday January 14, 2021, the 52-year-old sergeant, who is attached to a command in the Southern Region, was served a Future Court Attendance Notice for one count of common assault.
He is due to appear at Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday March 2, 2021.
His employment status is currently under review.
