Bowral residents woke to find their beloved Christmas tree in Corbett Plaza surrounded by smashed baubles, and a woman who drove through Mittagong in the early hours of the morning told of milk crates being thrown from roof tops onto cars.
The Hume Police were not able to make a statement at this stage regarding either incident, or to confirm reports of someone attempting to climb the Christmas tree on Bong Bong Street.
Kaci Marceau, of Moss Vale, was the unlucky driver of a car on Bowral Road, Mittagong at about 2.30am when she saw milk crates being thrown from a roof top.
One hit her car, causing her to "freak out" but not doing any damage.
"Whoever it was, was standing on top of the roof or behind the building and pegging them over," said Ms Marcaeu.
"There were already about three of them on the road.
"I didn't need to move out of the way or anything as they were on the right side of the road, and I was driving towards the lights next to the Playhouse.
"I then drove back through around 3:30am and there was no one around and or no crates on the road anymore."
