With the announcement by the NSW Government that participation limits for outdoor community sport will be increasing from 500 to 3000 people, this has enabled the 93 Parkruns in New South Wales to begin reopening from December 19, 2020 under Parkrun's COVID-19 Framework.

Bowral Parkrun announced that the news is excellent, but there may be some issues.
"We've got some issues with the current Bowral course that we are working through with haste so we can all get back to our Saturday morning obsession," Park Run Bowral said.
"There will also be a couple of small changes to stay COVID-safe.
"But stay tuned and hopefully we can get a start date at Bowral announced as soon as possible."
While runners wait for their Saturday morning sweat-a-thon to return, it is urged that participants familiarise themselves with Parkrun's COVID-19 Framework.
