And a new pop up shop in Bowral has plenty of unique, locally made products that could be just what you're looking for.
City + Sticks opened in November and has "handmade, original goods" from more than 60 artists, designers and makers.
Jodie and James Fulford opened the shop, which is located in Springetts Arcade and which will at this stage remain open through to the end of December.
"You can buy things anywhere," Jodie said.
"We want people to invest in buying local, in craftsmanship. Buy local for Christmas.
"There's something for everybody and something for every price point."
Most of the artists and artisans are from the Southern Highlands, with only a few from out of the area.
And you can 'Meet the Makers' on the City + Sticks Facebook and Instagram pages.
"The response has been absolutely overwhelming. Everyone that comes, thinks its amazing," Jodie said.
