From drought to bushfire to COVID-19 restrictions, we have endured, survived and looked out for each other.
Southern Highlands Vaulting Team has held its own.
We have used the time out to focus on connection and communication with our horses and to regroup our club.
The horses, our number one priority, have come out sparkling and we have some promising new vaulters including a change of guard.
Congratulations to Natalie Paragalli our new president.
Natalie comes with a lot of skills knowledge and long time commitment to Southern Highlands Vaulting Team. And special welcome to our new families.
This weekend saw the first and last vaulting competition for the year and expertly hosted, with COVID-19 guidelines and rules in place, by Sydney Vaulting Group, at the magnificent grounds of Evans Park in Glossodia.
We took a small team including some first timers, Maudie Kerr, Ellanor Paragalli and Georgia Suttie who performed their routines with enthusiasm and grace.
Sarah Grayson, formerly of Sydney Vaulting Group, has also joined our team as she is now a Highlands girl and we welcome her expertise and enthusiasm with open arms.
Our Bella Napthali and Ellla Fin both vaulted on Andre giving us a special performance including a PB for both girls, capably lunged by Sarah Grayson.
Then Bella took the reins and lunged Andre for Sarah again with a round we are so proud of, a great comeback after a long break since WEG 2018 for Sarah.
Our Super Sally Paragalli lunged our faithful Highlands Chevrolet aka Chevy to an impressive second place in the squad event which included our newcomers.
Credit to Lani Maher for coaching this talented team and to all the vaulters for working so hard to be rewarded with these results.
This was teamwork including our Mike on the Mic to keep the show upbeat and on track.
The team rose to the many challenges presented to us over the weekend and I am so very happy and proud to say you guys excelled as did our horses.
Thank you for stepping up and taking the reins as needed.
It was so good to be back on the arena with our many vaulting families who we have obviously missed this year.
A special thank you to Matilda Robinson from Regal Vaulting Team, Shoalhaven Heads, for capably stepping in to our team.
As did many clubs our SHVT took a hit during COVID 19 and we are so very grateful to our loyal BDCU Alliance bank who has stood by us for many years and helping out in tough times
A big shout out to Equestian NSW for your support to help us run our Come and Try day to engage new members and keep our club afloat
