Farmer's market
The On the Grow Railway Street Farmers Market continues to provide a place to source healthy, fresh food. Located on the corner of Railway Avenue and Spring Street in Moss Vale, the markets are open from 3pm every Thursday afternoon.
Community pantry
The St Stephen's Anglican Church in Mittagong's popular morning tea has returned. Held on a Friday morning, this is supported with donations of cakes and pastries from Gumnut Patisserie, Bakers' Delight and the Chelsea Bakery in Mittagong. The morning tea is held each Friday from 10am until midday.
Arts Trail
The Southern Highlands Arts Trail continues this weekend with plenty to see and do, including a range of mini events:
- Mini Event Studio 2 MC STUDIOS: On November 14 from 11am until 5pm bring your own materials and a picnic lunch and enjoy some garden drawing with the artists. Bookings essential. RSVP to 0447 479 788. The event will be held at 51-53 Church Avenue, Colo Vale.
- Mini Event - Studio 30 Sandra Passerman: A tile decoration adult workshop will be held on November 10 and 15 from 10am-1pm. The three-hour workshop will cost $185 and includes materials, tuition and firing. Call 0400 461 905 or email sandrapasserman@yahoo.com.au to book a spot. It will be held at 4 Park Street, Wingello.
- Drop In Paint A Pot For Children: Any time between 10am and 5pm on November 14, children can drop in for an open workshop, with parental supervision and paint a pot. - Mosaic Workshops & Demonstrations - Art Trail 2020 Mini Events: There will be two one-hour workshops held on November 14 and 15 at 2 George Street, Burrawang. - Art Trail Mini Event - Studio 24 Turned Around: All Day - Wood Turning. At 11.30am and 2.30pm - Furniture restoration and at 12pm and 3pm - Highland Cattle Tour. - Art Trail Mini Event Painting Demonstrations with Miel Kroon: Miel Kroon will be doing painting demonstrations each day of the Trail starting at 11am. This will take place at studio number 15, 5 Martha Street, Bowral.
- Art Trail - Studio 24 Douglas Stewart Painting Techniques Demonstration: There will be s painting techniques demonstration on November 14 and 15 between 11am and 2pm at studio 24, 135 Richards Lane. Bookings essential. Call 0416 940 204 or email douglas@stewartspectrum.com to book a spot.
Bowral Markets
The Bowral Public School Market will next be on Saturday, November 14 from 9am until 1pm. There will be a range of stalls including jewellery, clothing leather, garden and food stalls as well as hot food and coffee available.
Parkinson's support
The monthly meetings continue to be postponed. Coffee and chat (under social distancing and sanitising rules) are on Saturday mornings 9.30am-10.30am at Bradman Museum (order at the cafe but seating is in the museum). For further information contact Mrs Dympna Irwin 4869 5252.
Sunday Sessions 'Gibraltar' Jazz Gig
The Sunday Sessions Jazz Gig is back at a new venue, the Gibraltar Hotel Bowral - in The Observatory. The Sunday Sessions Band features Ben Jones on reeds and vocals, David Seidel on double bass, Peter Locke on piano and Joshua Morgan on drums. The next event will be on November 15, with the cost of tickets $30. The band will be playing from 2-5pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only taking pre-paid bookings will be taken. Bundanoon Maker's Market
The Bundanoon Makers Market is held on the fist and third Sunday of every month (except January). The next one will be Sunday, November `15. It includes sewers, knitters, woodworkers, photographers, leatherwork and silver jewellery plus all you need for meals during the week with fresh fruit and vegetables, freshly baked bread, Lebanese take home meals, hot Indian dishes, Japanese pancakes, Honey and Eggs plus an assortment of cakes and pies. Held at Bundanoon Public School, the market will run from 8.30am until 2pm.
Marionette performance
ImaginArta - the Australian Puppet Centre presents a gorgeous family puppet every Sunday at 11am at the Sutton Forest Hall. Ticket prices are $15 adults, $11 Children and only $10.50 per ticket for groups of four or more. Bushwalkers
With some indoor activities still limited, now's a great time to get outdoors and enjoy some of the spectacular scenery the region has to offer. Southern Highlands Bushwalkers are still offering a range of walks. The next walk will be from Sunday, November 15 to November 20. It will be at Kosciuszko NP Alpine and river walks. Various moderate walks plus one hard walk. Thredbo Village lodge accommodation. There will be a maximum 10 walkers. View lodge details online at: kiamaalpineclub.org.au.
