Statement:
"We have been notified that a customer at our BIG W Mittagong store has tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
- The customer visited our store on Saturday, October 31 2020 between 12:00pm and 12:10pm has been confirmed with a positive case of Coronavirus.
- We became aware of the case on Thursday, November 5 2020 at approximately 3:35pm.
- We placed a customer notification up in multiple parts of the store.
"Our Mittagong customers were made aware as soon as we had a confirmed case in store.
"As a responsible retailer, we already have very high standards of cleaning and hygiene in place.
"As an extra precautionary measure, the store had an additional deep clean.
"While the risk of transmission to customers and team members is low, the wellbeing of our customers, team and communities is our highest priority, and in line with public health advice, we are taking all necessary steps to ensure ongoing safety in our stores.
"Customers and team members should be assured they can continue to shop and work safely at our Mittagong store.
"Any customers who shopped in our Mittagong store since Saturday, October 31 and feel unwell in the two weeks that follow should make contact with the Department of Health and Human Services for advice."
