Council's acting general manager Barry Paull encouraged locals to complete an online survey and join a discussion forum to share ideas.
"This is an opportunity for Southern Highlanders to help shape the future look and feel of Bong Street and Corbett Plaza," he said.
"Our aim with this streetscape Masterplan is to enhance and beautify the area, improve its usability and ensure it remains safe whilst retaining the distinct character of the township."
Council has appointed Complete Urban to develop the streetscape Masterplan. When developing the Masterplan the contractor will consider current building aesthetics and local historical and cultural elements.
Mr Paull said that the same time Complete Urban would also take in to account the existing structures, underground services and drainage networks and would future proof the streets to allow for new technology.
Information collected will be used to prepare a draft Masterplan for the community to review and comment on.
All feedback will be considered before a final Masterplan is prepared and presented to Councillors for adoption.
Once adopted this final document will form the basis of Council's future vision for Bong Bong Street.
To share ideas or learn more about the Streetscape Masterplan project, including a video presentation and mood boards, visit www.yoursaywingecarribee.com.au/bowral.
Residents who complete the online survey will be in the running to win one-of-five $100 gift cards.
This initial phase of consultation will conclude on November 30, 2020.
