Council's youth liaison officer Michelle Williams said the competition provides young people with an opportunity to gain experience and learn more about the music industry.
"We're seeking performers, bands, acoustic, solo and instrumental acts of all genres to audition with one song which will be recorded by a professional audio engineer," she said.
"Recordings will be uploaded to the Southern Highlands Youth Facebook page and the top performances, as voted by the public, will win a professional recording package including video clip."
The competition is open to young people aged between 12 and 24 years who live, work or study in the Wingecarribee Shire.
Full terms and conditions can be found on Council's website.
Auditions will take place at the Loseby Park Community Hall in Bowral from 10 am on Saturday November 28, 2020.
Interested performers should download the entry form from www.wsc.nsw.gov.au/create-and-celebrate-music-competition-audition and return to Council by 5 pm on Tuesday November 24, 2020.
The Create and Celebrate competition is funded by the New South Wales Department of Communities and Justice and Wingecarribee Shire Council.
