The City Recital Hall is again the venue for this filmed live concert - with special features - replacing the originally planned live November subscription concerts.
Recorded under strict health and safety protocols, A Final Offering is approximately 70 minutes long and will be available to regular subscribers and the general public as a live-filmed online concert from early November.
Joining Selby for this performance are her international friends Susie Park (Violin: Concertmaster Minnesota Symphony Orchestra), Stefanie Farrands (Principal Viola ACO) and Timo- Veikko Valve (Principal Cello ACO), in a program of Schubert, Schumann and Shostakovich.
Fittingly named as each piece was its respective composer's final offering in the genre, the program comprises Schubert's iconic 'Notturno', Shostakovich's great Piano Trio in E minor, Opus 67 composed during WWII; and Schumann's passionate Piano Quartet in E Flat Major, Op.47 composed as the final piece for a larger ensemble during his famous 'Chamber Music Year of 1842'.
"I hope you will join us for this gorgeous program of beloved masterworks and support both Selby & Friends and all my musical friends and colleagues as we present our last 'virtual' concert of the year," Kathryn Selby said
