Nothing has been quite normal this year and it's not hard to see why 2020 has proved to be a very quiet one for the usually bustling Southern Highlands village.
Springtime usually means Garden Ramble and the annual kookiness that is the Bundanoon Lions sponsored Scarecrow competition.
While the Garden Ramble may be cancelled due to COVID-19, the annual Scarecrow competition is still on.
The Scarecrow competition is the perfect COVID-safe event. It's a creative task anyone can undertake without breaking any social distancing rules, and everyone in the community can either participate in or simply enjoy the results.
Makers just have to bear social distancing rules in mind when considering where to place the Scarecrow in their garden.
In acknowledgement of the strange times we find ourselves in, some small changes have been made to the event.
This year's competition is running in the lead up to the October long weekend with scarecrow-making taking place during the first week of the school holidays.
Winners in the Open and Junior divisions will be announced on Friday October 2.
Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of the predicted good weather and take a tour around the village to enjoy the clever and creative handiwork on display.
A list of where to see the scarecrows can be obtained from The Village Grocer and Store.
