Diversions have now been cleared.
A load of material was found on the side of the road on September 30, 2020 and was treated as an asbestos clean up.
Trained hazmat officers secured and cleaned the scene.
Inquiries have been made with local council to determine the source.

Diversions are in place on the Old Hume Highway, Mittagong as Fire and Rescue conduct an asbestos clean up.
Police, emergency services and council workers are on the scene,
The incident occurred at 10:26 am.
All traffic towards Berrima has been diverted on to the Hume Highway.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and slow down around emergency services.
