Saturday, August 22 at Bowral Bowling Club saw two matches took place at 9 am in the morning.
Keith Edwards, Clive Neutze, Peter Morales defeated Ashley Lewis, Alistair McGhee, Chris Barritt-eyles 22-19.
A range of weather conditions with wind, rain, sleet and temperature on the green was four degrees.
The only thing missing was the snow.
In a match that team Barritt-eyles was expected to win, this was not the case at the finish.
Team Barritt-eyles had a 10-4 lead after eight ends and looked comfortable leading 13-5 after 11 ends.
What happened next was a huge turnaround with team Morales with one end to play only trailing 19-17.
On the last end team Barritt-eyles holding three shots and game when skipper Barritt-eyles played an over weighted shot and pushed the jack to the opposition to lose the match by 22-19.
In the other morning match, Noel Fraser, Jim Neely, Nathan Boyers defeated Tony Oakes, Gordon Lewis, Bob Crowley 27-6.
On this form team Boyers will be in search of the title weather conditions they just revelled in it.
Afternoon matches in the championship triples saw Oscar Wahlin, Stephen Della, Dugald Braithwaite defeated Graham Hunt, David Coltman, Carl Spilker 16-14.
This match centered round great shots right through the match.
Both teams really mastered the winter conditions.
Team Spilker lead 10-8 after 12 ends.
The second half of the match developed into a classic match, but there could be only one winner.
At the finish, team Braithwaite was the winner by two shots.
Robin Staples, Mike Holmwood, Kevin Stafford defeated Ted McPhee, Brian Porter, Bob Edwards 23-11.
This match close at the half way mark and team Stafford had a 11-10 lead before they took control to run out comfortably as 12 shot winners.
Eric Willacy, Josh Woodcock, Paul Leverett defeated Brian Payne, Kel Limbrick, Glen Giese 35-6.
As the score suggests team Leverett always holding the upper hand.
Noel Fraser, Jim Neely, Nathan Boyers defeated Keith Edwards, Clive Neutze, Peter Morales 11-6.
It was a match that finished after 11 ends when team Morales did not wish to continue and forfeited.

The semifinals will be played this Saturday morning (August 29) and the final to be played in the afternoon.
It is important that players note the starting time of 9 am.
The Mittagong RSL Shield entry for this event close this week end 29th August. With matches to commence on Saturday, September 5.
This will run over three weeks with week one being the fours-week two being singles and triples and the final week pairs .
