Prompted by adverse weather, the landslide created risky conditions for motorists.
According to a Transport Management spokesperson, traffic was affected in both directions while traffic crews worked to fix the problem.
They were assisted by Rural Fire Service volunteers. Macquarie Pass has re-opened to traffic.
However a small section of the Illawarra Highway remains closed between Tongarra Road and the Princes Highway due to flooding.
The spokesperson said the road would remain closed for the next day or two.
Another landslide occurred on Jamberoo Mountain Road on July 28.
The road remains closed while crews resolve the issue.
