Fill your water bottle, strap on the helmet and get pedalling because the Southern Highland Cycling Club are holding friendly, competitive Winter races.
The aero accelerated ones ventured out for their first race of the year, and there's still room for more.
President of the Southern Highland Cycling Club, Zac Hulm said it was a great first race, but could still be better.
"We had a reasonable turnout," Hulm said.
"There were eight riders coming out. So for what's going on due to COVID it's not bad, but plenty of room for anyone interested.
"We're really excited to have racing back and looking forward to some excellent racing."
As team sports around the Highlands struggle to keep up with the ever changing COVID rules and restrictions, the stomping solo cyclists may just have it a little easier due to cycling being an individual sport.
"We're following all the COVID requirements as per NSW Cycling," Hulm said.
"We're strict on these rules, but everyone is happily complying as we all know the severity of the situation. No one wants to go backwards in this situation."
The Highland Winters can be brutal, but once donned in the lycra the competitive juice will begin to flow.
"It's nice to see everyone out on their bikes getting fit during Winter," Hulm said.
"It can be a struggle to get motivated in the cold, but these riders did an excellent job.
"This was a road bike race in our Winter format. The race was 55 kilometres and held on Wombeyan Caves Road, out and back.
"Next race will be Canyonleigh Road in Sutton Forest, out and back.
"So if there is anyone who would like to join up, get into a great social circle of cycling and keep fit this Winter, give me a call."
The top three for this race were:
- Daniel
- Richard
- Steve
