Wingecarribee Shire Council has secured the funding from the NSW State and Australian Federal Governments to help rectify four traffic 'black spots'.
A total of $3.3 million dollars was allocated as part of the Australian Government's Black Spot Program to remediate sections of the Old Hume Highway in Mittagong and Bowral and Mt Broughton Road in Werai.

These funds will be allocated over the next two financial years and will be spent on constructing a roundabout at the intersection of Cavendish and the Old Hume Highway in Mittagong.
At the Bowral location 2.5 kilometres of safety improvements will be installed on the Old Hume Highway including the fitment of flexible barriers and sealing of the road shoulder.
At Werai the monies will be spent on upgrading the road with a non-skid surface.
Likewise, a further $4.7 million was secured as part of the NSW Safer Roads Program to improve Old South Road between Merrigang Street in Bowral and Aylmerton Road in Mittagong.
This three-year grant funding will be spent on widening the road shoulder and installing numerous safety measures.
Wingecarribee Shire mayor councillor Duncan Gair welcomed the announcements.
"All of these locations have previously recorded traffic accidents," he said.
"The funds provided by both our State and Federal partners will help us improve these roads and reduce the risk of future incidents."
All projects were nominated by council and supported by Transport for NSW because of their poor crash history.
"Both State and Federal Governments agreed with our assessments that these projects were of high priority," Cr Gair said.
"And in the current climate, it's more important than ever that we continue to invest in projects across our shire that support local businesses."
Works on all four road improvement projects will begin within the 2020/21 financial year.
Cr Gair said the announcements were further testimony of the State and Federal Government's confidence in our shire "to successfully deliver on these types of capital improvements to our road network."
"Both the state members for Goulburn and Wollondilly, Wendy Tuckerman and Nathaniel Smith along with the federal member for Hume, Angus Taylor continue to be strong advocates for our shire and we're grateful for their continued support."
