Council's coordinator strategic land use planning Michael Park explained that these draft documents helped set the direction for future residential developments within the Wingecarribee Shire.
"A Local Housing Strategy will help overcome speculative driven proposals and instead provide a strategic framework for future planning proposals and residential housing releases," Mr Park said.
"This will in turn provide greater clarity and certainty for our community about how and where we will manage growth into the future."
Mr Park said the draft documents were in-line with the community's vision and expectations on how our Shire's future residential developments should be managed.
"A Local Housing Strategy and Local Strategic Planning Statement will determine what type of housing we need to provide and where, as well as provide a long-term planning framework for our economic, social and environmental needs" he said.
"It will also ensure a more cohesive and uniform approach is taken to future development across the Shire."
