A man will face court today charged after allegedly committing numerous offences while riding an unregistered trail bike in the Southern Highlands.

Following numerous reports from the community regarding unregistered trail bike activity in the Welby, Mittagong and Bowral area, about 11am on Tuesday, April 7, officers from The Hume Police District attended a home in Mittagong and arrested a 21-year-old man.

The man was taken to Southern Highlands Police Station, where he was charged with use weapon to avoid apprehension, two counts of unlicensed driver, menacing driving, two counts of drive unregistered vehicle, two counts of use uninsured vehicle, two counts of drive manner dangerous and use mobile phone whilst driving.
Police will allege the offences were committed between Monday, March 30 and Monday, April 6.
The man was refused bail and is due to face Wollongong Local Court via AVL on Wednesday, April 8.
Southern Highlands Police officer-in-charge Chief Inspector John Klepczarek said police are fed up with poor behaviour on unregistered trail bikes.
"Not only is this kind of behaviour irritating to other drivers, it is downright dangerous."
"We will continue to investigate and take legal action against those who choose to do the wrong thing on our roads."
