Add homeschooling to the mix and for many it can become an extremely stressful prospect.
With it likely online learning will continue next term, it can be tricky to get the balance between play at study right at home.
Highlands teacher Andrew Strode has shared his top five tips on how to help you and your child get through each day:
- Establish a daily routine- utilise the student's school timetable as a guide. Try to maintain existing routines, for example eat breakfast, brush your teeth and get dressed in the morning.
- Complete school work in a space that is safe, comfortable and quiet, ideally at a desk or table.
- Monitor your digital space - check your emails and learning platforms for announcements and communication from your teachers.
- Communicate your needs- email or phone your class teachers if you are struggling with the work load, or have questions.
- Take breaks! Move away from the screen or desk and try to do something active. Household activities can be good for this - hang the washing out, vacuum the floor, check the mailbox.
