Two successful State Government grant applications has resulted in a combined financial boost of $353,140 to community initiatives in the village.
Goulburn MP Wendy Tuckerman dropped into the village on March 12 to officially hand over the funds.
She presented a large cheque of $291,000 to Robertson Men's and Women's Shed president John Kennis and a further $62,140 to Robertson Community Technology Centre (CTC) president Jenny Kena.
Funds for the Men's and Women's Shed will pave the way for work to begin on purpose-built premises for the group.
The site for the new premises has been prepared adjacent to the Robertson CTC with construction set to begin soon.
In fact Ms Tuckerman turned the first sod on the site during her visit on March 12.
The shed will be completely self-contained with workshop, meeting room and full facilities.
The grant to the CTC will be used for a new kitchen upgrade for the centre.
The morning's activities were a good reason for celebration with all in attendance being treated to a morning tea with typical Robertson hospitality.
Representatives from both the CTC and the Men's and Women's Shed agree the funds will help form a vital hub for the well-being of local men and women.
The men currently meet 10am every Tuesday at the CTC and encourage those interested to come along and be part of the friendly team.
