Wingecarribee Shire Council's annual Household Chemical CleanOut day will return on Saturday, March 21.
Hosted in conjunction with the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA), the day enables residents to dispose of any household chemicals free of charge.
You can take household quantities of the following household chemicals and items:
- Solvents and household cleaners
- Floor care products
- Ammonia-based cleaners
- Pesticides and herbicides
- Poisons
- Pool chemicals
- Hobby chemicals
- Motor fuels
- Fluorescent globes and tubes
- Acids and alkalis
- Smoke detectors
- Paint and paint-related products
- Gas bottles
- Fire extinguishers
- Car and household batteries
- Motor oils and cooking oils
Residents can take up to a maximum of 20 litres or 20 kilograms of single items.
Business-related and commercial quantities of chemicals are not accepted.
Please inquire with a commercial waste operator or visit www.businessrecycling.com.au for commercial waste disposal.
The CleanOut will take place from 9am to 3.30pm at council's Works Depot, which can be accessed via Parkes Road in Moss Vale.

Wastes such as paint, gas bottles, smoke detectors, oils, batteries and fluorescent lights can be dropped off at any time of the year, free of charge.
These items are accepted at council's Community Recycling Centre, located within the grounds of the Resource Recovery Centre.
