The new Studio Woodworkers Australia Exhibition will be held at Sturt Gallery in Mittagong. The exhibition will officially be opened by David Boucher, founder and CEO of Boucher and Co at 11 am on February 16. The Studio Woodworkers of Australia showcase the best of the best these special men and women who have spent years mastering their craft. More than the 20 expert makers have been invited to design and create work beyond the boundaries of their comfort zone pushing them to their limits of creativity in 'Edge', the exciting new exhibition.
Gang of Five Art Exhibition
- February 13 - 24, BDAS, 10 am - 4 pm
The Gang of Five is comprised of five artists, Stan Korytnyj, Michael Eccleston, Peter Griffen, Denise Lithgow and Dale Saunders. Peter is an abstract landscape artist who explores the colours and spirit of the Australian outback and Denise is a master of felt production in her 3D sculptures and her 2D multi media pictures. Michael Eccleston sees painting as a language between the painter and the observer. Stan Korytnyj uses painting to comment on social injustice, inequity and misadventure; and the incarceration of desperate families fleeing war zones. Dale Saunders uses colour, shape and texture to choose a direction and works.
Movie Under The Stars
- February 15, Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens, 6 pm for 8 pm start
Settle in to watch a movie under the stars and help raise funds for our local firies. Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens will host Movie Under the Stars on February 15 at the gardens on the corner of Kangaloon and Old South Road, Bowral. The evening will feature an outdoor screening of Hidden Figures the award-winning story of three African American mathematicians who played a pivotal role in the space program. A tasty, professionally catered picnic box and sweet treat is included in the ticket price of $50 per person.
Learn to play an instrument at Seniors' Festival
Have you always wanted to play a musical instrument? This is your chance. Robertson CTC have a range of free activities to get you listening to or even making music during the 2020 Seniors' Festival. It all starts with the chance to try that instrument you have dreamed of playing.There will be local teachers to demonstrate and you are encouraged have a go.
