The Berrima Clay Target Club will host a fundraiser this weekend in a bid to raise funds for the brave firefighters who battled the blazes.
President of Berrima Clay Target Club Peter Papps is excited to give back to the firefighters and is looking forward to a great competition on the weekend.
"We're running a charity shoot for the Berrima and Moss Vale RFS," Papps said.
"Two events will be held. One will be a 50 target point score and a 50 target continental. There will be prizes in each four grade event.
"The grades are: AA, A, B and C."
There are no pre-nominations for this event. It's all about getting down early and supporting the community with a fun day out.
"People nominate to shoot on the day," Papps said.
"There's no pre-nomination. So we will be relying on people to getting here early and getting involved.
"The club will donate all of the nomination fees that are collected on the day, back to the fund for the two nominated RFS branches.
"That will be a donation of $50 per shooter."
There will be prizing and trophies for winners. At the end of the day, the money raised will be donated in a ceremony.
"The trophies on the day have all been donated," Papps said.
"We have contacts with importers and sporting distributors who have come to the party and provided trophies for the day.
"Their contribution will add up to around $2500-$3000. Each of the RFS services, they should be receiving a substantial cash return from the club.
"It will be presented on the day in the form of a cheque. We will raise as much as we can on the day, there will be raffles also."
I can't fight fires, but I can make a contribution towards the guys that do.

Everyone involved with the event and the club have got behind this and put in a lot of work. It is looking to be a great day and all for an even better cause.
"We've had individual trophy donors as well," Papps said.
"One of our members here at the club had a wonderful saying, I can't fight fires, but I can make a contribution towards the guys that do.
"That member has donated $300 worth of trophies. Other members have made $100 donations which will be distributed on the day."
To ensure you get a spot in the competition, arrive early and put your name down. Word has spread of the event and shooters from surrounding areas will be competing.
"We're anticipating shooters from Canberra, Goulburn, Yaas, Sydney and Illawarra," Papps said.
"Get down here early, nominate yourself and get involved."
The competition will begin at the Berrima Clay Target Club on Saturday, February 1 at 10 am.
