The largest seniors festival in the Southern Hemisphere will come to the Southern Highlands and the Community Technology Centre (CTC) in Robertson is ready to celebrate with a series of free music events for seniors.
Themed 'Love to Celebrate', the 2020 NSW Seniors Festival will deliver hundreds of free and heavily discounted events, workshops, and performances for seniors across the state.
The CTC in partnership with the Robertson Men's Shed and musicians from the region will encourage seniors to celebrate music as part of the festival with opportunities to 'Try It', 'Hear It', 'Make It' and 'Learn About It'. All events are free for seniors and their carers and refreshments will be served. Some transport will be provided from Mittagong, Bowral and Moss Vale.
Events include:
Try It - always wanted to play or used to play? Try out various instruments and talk to the teachers about learning, relearning or joining in as an older person - February 13 from 10am to 12pm
Hear It Free Concert - Classical and Jazz concert featuring top young musicians from the Sydney and Wollongong Conservatoriums of Music - February 16 2pm to 4pm
Make It - Join members of the Robertson Men's Shed at a demonstration of how to make a guitar followed by musical performances and a barbecue - February 18 10.30am to 12.30pm

CTC president Jenny Kena said she very excited to present the musical program in the 2020 Seniors Festival.
"Many of our volunteers are passionate about music and are keen to share this love of music with others," Ms Kena said.
"They have seen how music can make a difference at any age with benefits to health and wellbeing and the development of new friendships."
The CTC will also run free technology workshops.
